Our Ocean Kayaking tours are based out of Victoria, B.C, Our favourite day paddling area is the Oak Bay and Discovery-Chatham Islands - all conveniently located within 15 minutes by vehicle from downtown Victoria.
Oak Bay is especially popular with kayakers because the many islands offer not only protection from the prevailing winds and waves, but offer a wide variety of interesting and scenic places to explore. The islands you see depicted on the picture give you a good idea of what you can expect. These are amongst the loveliest of the Gulf Islands - solitary, wild, and natural, and set against a backdrop of snow-capped mountains
Wildlife enthusiasts will be enthralled: as this area features two marine ecological reserves which are home to many seals, eagles, and marine birds. And if you come on the right time of year, you might even encounter sea lions and whales.
Because our kayaks are trailered to our launch sites, we can also offer you kayaking in other areas of the Victoria region of Vancouver Island, including the wild surf beaches of Port Renfrew, and the popular Gulf Islands.
For those who are seeking a more remote, yet comfortable kayaking experience, we can use our sailboat as a base from which to access and to explore some of the most wild and beautiful areas of Canada's West Coast. For example, this spring we will be visiting world famous Princess Louisa Inlet and Desolation Sound, with kayaks in tow. Who knows, this "kayaking mothership" experience may even get you hooked on sailing as well!
If you are an adventurer and explorer by heart you wll not be disappointed !
